An absolutely amazing adaptation of the Ever After High TV Series that people of any age can enjoy. Despite not being the target audience for this I heavily enjoyed it, especially since I loved Ever After High as a kid and grew up with it. I felt my inner child smiling with glee as I read this book.

The only negative that has brought it down half a star is that the world building was terrible. Its a shame we had to sacrifice world building for amazing character development. I do know that if I hadn't watched the tv show when I was younger I would have been heavily confused about how ever after high as a world worked. There are only vauge hints from Hale about for example how many years of ever after high there are.

Other than that I adored reading. I would heavily recommend this book to anyone regardless of age.

A good adaptation adds to a story and I believe Story Book Of Legends does exactly that. Although I know not everything from the tv show will be able to be adapted into the full book trilogy, Hale does a good job of adapting the legacy day build up in the tv show whilst also adding in extra lore with the mysterious Bella Sister who didn't sign.

Another thing I liked was the well written plot as for the age its written for the big mystery of the book is twisty and written in a way that isn't too predictable and boring. Surprisingly dark too. Due to the mystery being written so carefully. I was turning the page in anticipation with Raven to find out what happened to Bella Sister.

The strong part of the book I'd say is the incredible themes of freedom and allowing people to follow their own destiny which is a very important theme that still unfortunately applies today. For the adults it's asking us if it is fair to mold children in to our expectations or let them live their own destiny free from the forced harmful structures of society. A good book has a message that leaves you thinking and the storybook of legends definitely does.

I could ramble about this book including about the amazing written chemistry between forth wall breaking Maddie and The Narrator. I will say though that if you like fairytale books and books exploring destiny or rebelling from a toxic system than I definitely recommend this book.

Through the book I could see crumbs of plot that could happen in the next book, so I'm super excited to pick up the next book in the trilogy without any hesitation.
