On the other note, it was poetic how at some point you would have thought that the trio is mirroring the history, Kitay as Jiang, Rin as Daji and Nezha as Riga. But then you finish the book and you seeKitay is Jiang, Nezha is Daji and Rin is Riga and I think that’s very sad, to the very end.
I had some spoilers and I was afraid Rin will spiral into madness to the end and end up being killed, but I’m glad that, at the very end, she got a chance to make her own choice. Reading this book you know she had to die at the end, I’m just glad she could do that at her terms

Is this how Divergent readers felt back in 2013 when reading Allegiant….
one of my all time favorite reads. rf kuang is an incredible storyteller, i felt like i was completely transported to this world and i was experiencing everything with the characters. the plot was interesting from start to finish, it always left me wanting more, there were zero dull moments and soooo many plot twists WOW. the history, the politics, the religion, the philosophy, the characters' reflexions to everything were so incredibly well done too. i love how we were shown the awful reality of war and the aftermath with no filter, it felt so real.
the characters were complex and very interesting on their own but their little moments where they were being teenagers for a few pages were a breath of fresh air.
rin is a wonderful protagonist and the fact that she never ever got the chance to figure what she could have love or been good at outside of the war destroyed me.
RIN AND KITAY had one of the best fictional friendships i have ever seen “take what you want, it said. i’ll hate you for it. but i’ll love you forever. i can’t help but love you.” “ruin me, ruin us, and i’ll let you.” I WILL NEVER GET OVER THIS NEVER.
rin and nezha also had me so horrendously, they never got their chance and it absolutely broke my heart. i love how important their relationship is to the evolution of the plot while being a very minor plot.
the ending was really realistic to me, a happy ending would have felt out of place but GOD it absolutely broke me, i cried all night. rin, kitay and, nezha i will love you and miss you forever.
