The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

The Handmaid's Tale offers a glimpse of a far off world, where fertility is the only currency that matters. But within the stark nightmare, Atwood weaves in aspects that are barely recognisable, even comparable with what our world has already seen. Her ability to perceive disgusting corners of our own world and evoke from them a dystopia that feels far too realistic is at times inspiring and terrifying.

quite simply the best book i've ever read. it combines all of my interests, my deepest darkest fascinations with womanhood and misogyny and what love really means, with the added spice of pregnancy on top. absolutely perfect.

loved the book. I always have trouble with uncertain endings, but it was really well written and gives me chills just thinking about the premise.

Keeper for revisiting. "Better never means better for everyone, he says. It always means worse, for some."
