3.75? 4? I'm not quite sure yet.
While I liked reading Hudson's story, I have to say that I didn't enjoy this book as much as the previous three. This was one of those romances that features a lack of communication and characters doing things to make the other jealous (in a smaller capacity than some other novels, mind you) and those are two of my major pet peeves when it comes to romance novels... so I guess it just wasn't meant to work out for us.
That being said, I really liked both Hudson and Charlie as characters and I did enjoy watching them come together. I just couldn't sink into this book as much as I have with the others.

My least favourite so far.
Yes, Hudson's and Charlie's Story was somewhat cute and interesting... BUT there is something in this story that I just did not like as much.
(I'm currently finally reading Made Marian and knowing those old women on the plane are Tilly and the Grannies makes the scene that much better!)

Being from Cork I was expecting a grand ol'time
I've had great fun reading this series but almost shows away from this instalment because it has an Irish character. And they never go well...
Cork airport is a one terminal small town thing. It has one international flight. Boston Providence. To fly to Dallas you either leave from Dublin and transfer in the US or fly to the UK/mainland Europe and transfer there.
Also Ireland is not in the UK so one cannot leave the UK from it. By this definition one is already outside the UK by being in Ireland.
Little things like leaving money on the table to pay for pints, thinking a jaunt to Cork City from Ballymacnowhere in Clare is doable, and the word automobile made the first part of this story tough. But as soon as it got to Hobie and the whole gang back there it was like falling into a familiar comfy chair.
It felt steady and sure as the story progressed. The timeline was perfect and I am now desperate to hear about the other storylines that were tantalising us. Always coming back to Lucy Lennox is a joy, I just wished a little more research was done on the Irish side.I
P.s you'll sooner find an Irishman who speaks Irish than one who speaks Yeats. An bhfuil cead agam dul go dti an leithreas? Amirite?

Hudson has been an appealing secondary character, and here he gets his own love story. After a mishap with an accidental proposal to his boss's daughter, Hudson finds himself crossing the ocean to inspect an Irish brewery his boss is considering buying. He meets a flamboyant young man whose family has owned the business for generations, and suddenly neither business nor his romantic life are as simple as he imagined they were.
This was cute and funny and warm, and occasionally frustrating. Hudson's internal battles with his sexuality labels could be attributed to the pressures of all the time he spent being the holdout among his gay brothers and having a hard time letting go of that individuality as the one "straight" guy. In fact, he struck me as more demisexual than anything and I was sorry that wasn't where his self-exploration took him. The older Wilde guys were a warm presence, and the ending was a workable HEA.

I'll be honest, I DNF'd this around 25%. I'm not a huge fan of the 'gay for you' trope. I find feminine guys to be beautiful and attractive, but I really didn't like the way Hudson's 'gay for you' "sexuality" intersected with "I only like this guy because I basically think he's a woman." Also the lack of communication I experienced in the beginning apparently only getting worse later makes me very grateful I stopped when I did.
I love this author a lot and I'm super happy that others really loved this book. I simply found it not for me. I can't wait for the rest in the series though.

This is my favorite book of the series so far. I wasn't prepared to love Hudson and Charlie as much as I did, but OMG everything about their story was absolutely perfect 💙
