So disappointed! Cut corners, cut length, not as gripping…

The first three books were STELLAR, so imagine my disappointment when this was a flop! Yes, I read the whole thing, but I had been expecting twice as long a book. Seems like a novella by comparison, or maybe part one of an ongoing serial novel. Not what I was looking for from this talented author at all.

I have been waiting to read this book for months already... when I opened it, it felt like I was reuniting with old friends. I love the characters and the amazing family they have.
If you haven't read Semester Aboard (the first book of More Than Magic) I must highly recommend it. Its worth every penny.

So awesome to be back with TS, Jen, Thomas, Dani, Charlie, Mariana and Rak! Cant wait to read the next one in the series!

I was a bit hesitant about this book being a six part serial but so glad I read it as it is just as good as the other More Than Magic books and I can't wait for the next one!

I want to start by saying you really don't have to have read the previous Semester Abroad Trilogy. Elizabeth Kirke writes with the right balance of bringing new readers (or those that have read them but a while ago, like me) up to speed on past events without explaining everything about her other books or it feeling like an information dump.

So it does have spoilers for the first triIogy but you can always look at them as prequels if you wanted. Plus, as not everything is explained, you'll be able to read the other books and still be surprised.

I love the world within a world that Kirke has made and continued in this book, exploring a different side of paranormal life. The characters are the best part for me. I love the grouping and interactions, they are so natural and life like that it's like they are real. So immersive and definitely worth reading.

I thought this book was average. It was written well, the characters were likable, the story was good. I liked the book, but I didn't love anything about it. There were some elements of excitement and mystery, but overall it was just ok for me. I would not say it was boring, but there were times that I had to make myself continue reading. If you enjoy paranormal mysteries, you'll probably like it.

I haven't read this author before, so I'm not familiar with the previous series. Even though it stands alone I feel like I walked into the middle of a story and it took me quite some time to get all the character sorted in my head. Having each chapter written first person and each different I was overwhelmed. It's probably not a series I will continue with, I just couldn't find a connection. I'm glad it has a lot of wonderful reviews, each reader has their opinion and love of stories.
