Sooo good! I love that in the midst of such dark content that Dean Koontz writes in such hilarious characters. The quick whit and sarcasm is needed to help lighten the psychological heaviness of the story. I was on the edge of my chair and shouting at the characters as if I were a part of the story. This novel is a clear example of why Dean Koontz is a best selling author.

A nice mix of the weirdness of Koontz and plausibility, but not too much.

Not really good. Mediocre. If you're a Koontz fan you'll likely enjoy it. I'm not, and this is one of two of his books I've ever read, it lacked a lot.

First half had me totally hooked but second half became less terrifying than it was set up for. Still very good. Solid ending, great characters but some not well explained aspects.

How does one even begin to describe this book? I didn’t really enjoy it, and I don’t think it’s good. However, I still read the whole thing, and I didn’t absolutely hate it. Let me put it this way. Do you ever watch a bad movie just to laugh at how bad it is? That’s what reading this book was like. It was just so weird and bad and ridiculous that many parts made me laugh out loud. So would I recommend this book? No...unless you want to feel somewhat amused for 751 pages.

Great book that brings the subject of the Manchurian Candidate into a real world setting by seeing a similar plot transposed into a few people's everyday life. Good for the twists, but lacks some of his better ruminations on life that begin appearing in his books from this period.
