Full review to come. But seriously what a freaking amazing debut book!

I happened to randomly run across K. Reese on Facebook one night while she was running and author takeover. I loved the teasers that she posted, so I decided to join her Facebook group, Reese's Romantics.  I ended up being lucky enough to win a copy of her debut book. Since I happened to be in a book funk/ book hangover, I decided to pick her book up right away. And once I did, I wasn't able to put it down.

It's incredibly hard to believe this is a debut novel. It's just so well written! From the plot, to the character development, humor, and sexy times it was all just perfection. If you're a fan of my best friends sister trope, then you're going to LOVE this book. Mac is an amazing and strong heroine who knows that she wants to change some things about her life and decides to go back home to Tennessee to regroup. She's always had a crush on Lawson, her older brother's best friend. Lawson has never seen her as anything but a kid until now. Holy hell, the chemistry between Mac and Lawson is straight FIRE! At one point I thought my iPad was going to melt!

"What makes it worse is he's upped his sex appeal, the bastard. I thought I had it bad last week when he was pouring water over himself but it's infinitely worse now. Whenever he's here he's working shirtless and good God, seeing those muscles glistening in sweat are tempting enough to make a devout nun lift her skirt and pray for an orgasm."

There were so many times that I snort cackled laughing while reading this book. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book and see what K. Reese publishes next. But I can tell you that she has become an auto-buy and instant favorite author for me.

Sin and Cider is a classic romance based on a girl (MacIntosh) returning to her hometown and becoming reacquainted with a past love interest (Lawson). Lawson, in this scenario, sees how MacIntosh has grown and he begins to show interest in her. While I appreciate this trope, I don’t like how it makes MacIntosh only seem desirable once she has filled out and physically grown. This turns Lawson into a chauvinistic male character while using MacIntosh’s naivety against her. However, I did love the setting of Sin and Cider since it was set in the south, and southern gentlemen are my weakness.

Despite the classic roles of the characters, K. Reese has a way of making the reader fall in love with her characters. Reese created characters that stood out in her plot, and she made the classic “old flame” stereotype her own. I enjoyed the spice that the main character, MacIntosh, had to offer, and Lawson brought a fine bout of eye candy to the table with simplistic charm. The southern summer setting of Tennesse brings the reader a taste of classic summer romance, and I felt refreshed after finishing the novel. Sin and Cider brings the right amount of classic romance stunts to entice the reader while introducing the reader to a new setting and a memorable cast of characters. Reese does well with character development, and I enjoyed watching MacIntosh and Lawson grow throughout the novel. Both characters contributed to the evolution of the other, and I can’t get either of them out of my mind.

Sin and Cider is an excellent summer romance to kick off your summer reading, and I highly suggest the southern charm that it brings! You won’t be able to get this classic love story out of your head.

This really was an extremely well-written first novel! I was sucked right into the story and really enjoyed it, especially Mac! Mac was a great MC. She was strong, sassy and independent. I really enjoyed reading her growth throughout the story. Also, the scenes with Lawson were super steamy, so I loved those too. Unfortunately I was not a huge fan of Lawson though. For being 31, he was very immature emotionally. I think the story would have been better and more real if we were younger. Also, I felt as if this story has been done over and over. Girl and her brother's best friend, they agree that their relationship is nothing serious and blah. Nothing new there. That being said, it was still very well-written and I am incredibly excited to see what else this new author comes out with!

Sin and Cider is a delectably sweet romance with a strong independent heroine and sinfully sexy hero. Their chemistry was undeniable from the beginning and only grew the closer the got. I adored the small town feel of Sin and Cider that reminded me of home. Kimberly Reese does small town romance just as well as she does steamy college romance in Nerdgasm. I really can't wait for more of her words!

I loved this story, at times I hated it, but then I loved it again. This was the second book I read by this author, had read Nerdgasm( another amazing book) and loved it, and wanted to read more by her.

I have read it all, romance, erotica, the dark and twisted, mysteries, but something about that small town romance just calls to me.

Mac grew up in the same little town as Lawson. She and her family owned and operated a very successful apple orchard. Lawson is Mac's brother Smith's best friend, and someone Mac has always had a crush on. She hoped on her 18th birthday he would see her as a woman and not his friend's kid sister,or one of the guys. After over hearing a conversation, she makes the decision to go off to Chicago and make a new life. After a rough patch she returns home to find herself.

What she finds instead, is a friends with benefit sort of deal with Lawson. What she didn't expect was the feelings, jealousy, and pain. There are times where I found myself yelling at my kindle and wanting to throw it across the room. I laughed, I fumed,I cried, laughed some more. Can't wait to read more from her and from this series!

What a terrific small town, southern romance! I found this author with her 2nd book, then loved her 3rd. That's when I realized she had this one - her first - so I came back to read it. Had I not known, I would never ever guess this was a debut publication! So well written, a great story with great characters. Lead H/h are easy to want more of, and I'm really hoping for more books with the secondary characters (sister, brother, best friend, 2nd best friend...All of them!).

Mac is a strong female lead, that knows she wants and deserves better than her life as is. Lawson, is a true southern gentleman, until he isn't... at the best possible times. There does come a point when I want to punch him, but Mac does a great job not being a pushover. Kudos to her! There is just so so much I like about the style of writing, the dialogue, the steamy times, the family relationships....

Who knew Cider could be sooo good?
MacIntosh returning home for the summer from the big city turns out to be more complicated than she thought it would be. When Lawson figured out that MacIntosh was his mystery woman, what he did next was so unexpected.
I have read 'best friends little sister stories' before, but this...this was different. It's a refreshing new spin on the whole idea. MacIntosh and Lawson are both very strong characters. Neither one of them backs down from the other. Their attraction to one another bleeds through the pages; but even with the attraction, they are both blind to what is happening between them.

I have never been in a situation like this, but I feel like I can relate to their story; like I was there with them, watching all of this play out. This is one of those novels where I wish I could tell everyone the story, but I can't. It was that good.

K. Reese, you nailed it.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
