listening to her poems read in her voice is like sitting down and eating really good food. so satisfying for all the senses and with all the right textures.

I read this via audio. Maya Angelou's voice is one that I could listen to for a very long time. It's like a mix of sage and loving grandma that wrapped me up.

Celebrations was a beautiful collection and extremely accessible. If you are looking to read Angelou or to expand your readership of black poets (which you should be), give this a go. If you like audio, sit in low light and sip your coffee while Angelou's voice sings the words off the page.
