Vampires!?!

I didn't like this one as much as the first in the series. It was still interesting but for whatever reason didn't feel as action packed. Perhaps it's because I feel I'm settling in for a long haul with the series. I do like getting to know the characters more but I sometimes wish Robyn wasn't such an after thought. She's not mentioned as often as some of the other characters. Still very enjoyable.

pretty good read... but quite boring at times

It was such a good book. Fast-paced plotline and likable characters. Journal-type narration style made the book endearing and personal. Page turner and easy read. Use of Australian/New Zealand slang throughout was appreciated but foreign readers may have to google a few terms. Some parts get dark, so be prepared.

The prose style isn't great (or particularly complex), and it is painfully obvious that while the narrator is female, the author is himself male (and not particularly good at writing a woman's POV), but the story is good, the pacing is good, and Marsden knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. It's enough to make me read the next one, at least.

cant belive I finished it

Really good better than the first

I’m just going to put it out there.. if I were a man I would not try to write a teenage, first-time sex scene from a female perspective. Yet another example of a man describing a woman’s experience (and more generally, the female experience of hetero sex). Ugh.

On another note, I really love Robyn.
