Not as good as the first, but it was definitely entertaining. I have no idea why everyone in this series is a serial killer… but you just have to roll with it. The romance being enemies to lovers was super cute.
I have to say that last bonus scene… made me drop it .25 stars sorry not sorry 🫣

Brynne has done it again folks! I ate the audiobook up, it was that good. Samantha Brentmoor and Eric Nolan did a phenomenal job bringing Lark and Lachlan to life.

Ever since Butcher & Blackbird, I honestly look forward to the trigger warnings to see which food products Brynne will ruin and she did not disappoint. I loved the story between Lark and Lachlan so much and seeing their relationship go from hate to love. The banter was top tier and the slow burn into the spice was so good. Oh, and that bonus chapter? 😮‍💨 These Kane men might just be the death of me.

Love this book!!! I would say equal to the first in the series if not better. The banter between the two MCs is just 👨‍🍳💋. A little less gory than B&B but still satisfying! Also, the ending is just, 🤯🤯🤯. Please read this. You won’t be sorry. PS-> the dog lives.

This book was just as amazing as Butcher and blackbird! It had everything you could want! It had mystery, it had a nice build up and wasn't just smut, had an actual plot, it made me laugh all throughout, etc. Can't wait till the fi al one in February

This book was amazing. It was one hell of a slow burn. Lachlan being heavily tatted, Lark loving glitter. There was so much I loved about this one. B&B is also a 5 star review for me and I love them each the same for different reasons.
With L&L I loved the protective romance versus the obsessive romance we see in B&B.
This was my first time reading a
marriage of convenience
trope and it may be one of my new favorites.

For me, it didn't live up to the hype of the first book. The "insta love" felt kind of forced. The romance didn't quite feel natural. The conflict in it was incredibly small like it was more of a last minute idea. But over all, the story was cute (dark but cute).
