holy moly, What did I just read!!???!! And I mean that in the best way. Probably more like 4.5 stars. This journey was so freaking wild from start to finish. So many times Cosby had me gasping because I didn't see what was.coming next. It’s an insane story that just tumbles from one thing to the next. I'd say its a pretty heavy story with LOTS of violence and some language that I didn't like. the descriptions of wounds had me recoiling. i felt the author really like to use similies/metaphors/personification and it worked and i think its also the language of the area, if im correct\/that makes sense?
But this main character tells you kinda how he got to where he is heavily influenced by his view of his father. He struggles with the two versions of himself. He just tries to make things right and better for his family and literally nothing goes to plan. What an insane ride! And even though I didn't enjoy some of the language used, I will definitely be reading another Cosby book.

Wow. This book tore at my heartstrings. Everytime I got in my car I thought of Bug driving away from the police, Red Hill, and his past. This is a chilling reminder that some people have to fight, literally, to keep what meager things they have, due to cards someone else dealt.

I love a good heist - and this book is focused around a heist. However, I would say that it is more than just a heist book. There is a look into the motivations of the characters and, of course, there are complications. I found the different twists and turns engaging and exciting. At times, I did not want to put the book down. I was not totally sold on the ending scene, both logistically and from some abruptness, but the book has to end at some point. Also, Crosby is a good writer, which is often not mentioned in thrillers, but there are times when I stopped just admire the words that were written.

This was a great suspenseful thriller with a lot of depth behind the story. The main character was well written and even though he was flawed, it was easy to stand behind him and understand his choices. There were a TON of characters and that made it a bit difficult to follow along with, I was definitely confused multiple times by who we were talking about. Overall this was a good book and I'd recommend!

I'm wondering if I'll ever NOT love an S.A. Cosby book. Once again, this was an excellent read! Not quite as good as Razorblade Tears, but still REALLY good!

Not me rooting for the gangsta in the story lol. I liked the themes explored in this novel and was especially enraptured by the descriptions of driving the getaway cars. This is my fourth SA Cosby book and I'm def a fan!
