This book was meh. It was poorly edited and honestly the only reason I kept reading it was because I A. hoped it would get better, and 2. I hoped it would get better. The actual story idea is somewhat ripped from the headlines, which is another reason I read it, however, the dialogue is SOOOO choppy and hard to read, in addition to the poor editing. The speech was very formal, which just felt so odd since it was four teenage girls speaking. Also, the main character, Summer/Lily, fights so hard to retain her identity/name (Summer) the first half of the book and then suddenly, it seems that she accepts and becomes Lily, to the point when she is rescued she feels odd using her given legal name. I get what the author was trying to do, but it was not a smooth transition to get her to that point in her captivity where she accepts it. Same with how she cowers and lets the other girls take care of EVERYTHING and then suddenly SHE is the one comforting and taking care of the newcomer. I'm not sure I would recommend this when there are many other books with similar topics that are written better. I really wanted to like it, but meh.
