I picked up a copy of Stephen King's Everything's Eventual because it contains the story "1408". I enjoyed the film, and a draft of the story is included in On Writing, King's book about writing.

I as I write with every anthology I review, it's difficult to discuss the work as a whole because enjoyment really depends on one's appreciation of each story. However, as I come away from this title, I can say that I really enjoyed the collection, even the tales that didn't grip me in particular.

Favourites that stood out in this collection include, in order of appearance: "Autopsy Room", "The Man in the Black Suit", "The Little Sisters of Eluria", "1408" and "Riding the Bullet". A few others were solid and worth appreciation, but those really clicked with me.

The book is a good read for those who want to know if Stephen King's longer works might be for them. The stories really show a breadth of King's style. There is a short story from the Dark Tower series, books that very much connect to the 'every day horror' and realities of normal life, and more fantastical takes dealing with evil creatures. After reading this, I was much more open to reading more of King's longer works, as well, I am hoping to pick up more of King's anthologies.
