Amazing book

Even though I will not rate this very highly, this poet and his work will always have a small space in my heart. Even if it doesn’t hold up to the works I’ve read by other poets, it introduced me to a love for poetry.
I think it’s good that it can introduce younger people to poetry, but there are better poets for beginners in my opinion.

This is the first bit of poetry and prose that I probably ever read where it made me feel so many emotions at once. I was actually moved to tears at some points and felt compelled to save the pieces I related to the most in my phone. Even though you can read the book in less than a day, it definitely has to be taken in doses because it can hit DEEP.

Some good, some repetitive, some just a statement not even really a poem.

An amazing book that I've read at least 3 times since it came into my possession a few years ago. It's one of my favorites to annotate and mark up. The last time I read it the whole way through, I was reading it to my now husband and we both stayed up the whole night into the next morning. It was also when we first said "I love you" to each other.
Despite my sentimental attachment, I do have other reasons for really liking the book. It's romantic and heartbreaking all at once. It makes just about any reader feel seen (though that may be from the occasional 4th wall break lol). Truly a great work of poetry and one that I'm so happy to have on my shelf.

Personally, I just felt it didn't really have much power I was hoping for.
