Cukup oke. Entertaining read. Guilty pleasure with the chick lit style (i.e. it includes love, social squabbling, designer name dropping, etc...) but pretty well written with a cultural/historical context that was interesting to learn about. Think it would translate well to film.

So good!! I watched the movie first, but hadn't seen it in almost a year. The book makes me want to immediately jump on a plane to Singapore. The culture there sounds amazing, and I wish I learned more about Asia before

I don't really know how to rate this book yet, but it's definitely a good time. If you want something cute, summery, and fun, this is for you. There are also several notes that tell you about phrases, drinks, traditions, etc. that are pretty interesting.

(One of my summer goals is to read several fun books, and so far I'm succeeding.)
