The Quarry Girls
By Jess Lourey
4 Stars
I truly enjoyed reading The Quarry Girls by Jess Lourey. Lourey gave a wonderful introduction to the book that really helped build the excitement for the story. The characters were well developed and you really get to ‘know’ them. The story flows well and keeps you guessing throughout the story. I don’t want to spoil the story by saying too much, but, personally, I really enjoyed doing the detective work throughout the story.
I think I maybe loved the Author’s Note at the beginning of this book the best. It was so informative and it really helped set the tone of the book. It allowed you to put the facts next to the fictional story and get a real feel for what it was like during that time period.
Definitely read the trigger warnings before you dig into this book. Some trigger warnings include r4pe, kidnapping, violence, mur5er.

competent but ultimately predictable. she cites mare of easttown at the end and that influence shows in how odd the pacing becomes.
moments of quality writing but ultimately underwhelming. can’t recommend.

Didn't like writing style or the tone the story was going (after reading other reviews)
