Delightful
Why must all the billionaires be men? Great question- and now we have a “shoe is on the other foot” scenario. And it’s EPIC. This is the first installment in the Bluewater Billionaires series, and I must say: I love this series already.
Badass, driven career woman? Check.
Sexy manly man that melts her walls? Check.
Great friendships with like-minded women? Check.
Jane may or may not be my favorite person, though.

Really liked the kickoff to this series. Derek is one of my favorites and I liked Emily's character progression. Read these out of order but they're all good as standalones, more fun together!

This was the most memorable novel I've read this year. The characters are just wonderful with various personalities and i love how this novel applies women in STEM and changed the normal romance of falling for the billionaire male to billionaire female it was new and different and i enjoyed it. Lucy score never disappoints and I'm ecstatic to read the rest of the novels.
4 prepare to be dazzled stars!!
The sisterhood is real between these lady billionaires and I’m feeling it. Not only did they build a whole community around themselves of fantastic fun characters they built a dependable reliable friendship. I cannot even handle the sassy take no prisoners body guard Jane. That beginning where she rolls in with the taser is priceless.
Of course, Emily’s well thought out plans are falling around her otherwise she would never meet Derek and boy do we get to meet Derek in the beginning. Emily is the kind of character the main male usually plays, tough hard exterior, workaholic, no fun, solely focused on getting the job done, etc. It was neat seeing all the sides of Emily she has a work persona, a play persona, a scientist persona, a gala persona, it goes on and on… but which one really is her? Again, we get to see her come out of her shell in the book and it was great. I loved that she was a scientist and taking on life changing scientific research.
Derek was the complete opposite, he was very laid back and go with the flow. He seems to know how to fix everything that happens. Which is what making his business runs so well, they fix peoples images. I love that he gets the nickname Tea and Crumpets and just rolls with it, as if it’s no big deal. He reminds me of Jennifer Lopez’s character in the Wedding Planner always prepared for anything. This is what makes the roll reversal so amazing in this book. He never pressures Emily into a relationship with him, he lets her decide for herself, which makes him even more adorable. I also loved Derek’s family just as much as Emily’s friends.
This is the second book in this series I have read but I am somehow reading them out of order and it doesn’t seem to matter.

I loved the portrayal of a passionate, self-motivated woman. Having her worst day ever be the turning point that changes her life and guides her toward what she truly wants in life is a good reminder for us all when life throws us a curve ball.
I really didn't know what to expect from this book. I started reading it and picked out the bad guy immediately. I somehow didn't get the impression that the writer was trying to kept it a major secret. If course, I could be wrong.
Emily grew on me. Derek, I liked from the very beginning. He was completely outrageous. I enjoyed the banter between Derek and Emily. Emily has some very loyal friends that support her through everything.
The CEO billionaire theme didn't do much for me. Emily could have been only a CEO or only a billionaire, and it would not have changed anything in the book. At least, not for me. It just didn't seem that relevant. More important was her intelligence and scientific ability.
Jane, the Stun Gun Queen, was too funny. She was the person that humanized Emily before Derek came along. Emily's family was trash. Specifically Venice and Trey.
This was a lighthearted, sexy, romantic comedy with a little espionage, backstabbing, and intrigue.

Why is it that if a woman is successful, she is always a witch(or the other word that starts with a "b")?
And why do most the romances have the man as the billionaire and the woman as the assistant?
Well, I am glad that Lucy and friends have changed the mold and created a series where the woman are the billionaires and the men are not. So if you want the dynamic to change, go out, run and buy this book!
Emily is a beautiful successful geek. She grew up as a trust fund child who didn't really fit into that mold. She was more interested in being in a lab and finding ways to help others and make a difference then having a man take care of her. She started a company with a formula that she created to reduce wrinkles with her college friend and turned it into a billion dollar company.
Derek is a fixer. He was hired to "fix" Emily's scandal. But there is more than meets the eye with Derek. Let me tell you ladies, he's your next book boyfriend! Not only is he scorching hot, but he can fix/cut your hair and is a bad boy on the side.
Emily does have a great support system in her 3 billionaire best friends who were each so different from each other as they could be. Cam is an aerospace mogul, Luna is a zen loving, vegan makeup company owner and Daisy is fun loving billionaire playgirl. They all created a community where they all live. The residents are as crazy and lovable, that you come to expect from any of Lucy Scores' books. There is a prosthetic wearing alligator, inappropriate parrot, and large nomad dog that add to fun.
The fun starts when Emily wants to move her company to the next level, but she needs to up her public appearances. So she agrees to a date with a son of an entrepreneur. The the date goes horribly wrong and they are arrested in front of paparazzi. In comes Derek to fix her image and help her loss her "masks" and became who she really wants to be.
There is a great "meet-naked", drag queen brunches, cameo's of our favorite authors, and tiny houses kind of story. A fun rom-com that changes our views on billionaire woman and the dynamic of relationships. hint...the man doesn't always have to be the bread winner to hold his alpha status.
