I did not like this book at all. I didn’t care about it, it wasn’t interesting, it was poorly written, and it was gross for shock value.  The only reason I did not DNF it immediately was that I read it for a book club that my MIL is part of and for her I will do anything 🫡 even push through the worst book I have ever read.

The end twist was like an after-thought that didn’t make sense. I don’t even care if the letter was real or fake, the book was just bad and that little bit of mystery was not going to save it. All of the characters sucked and their motivations always fell flat. Also the names were stupid.

All in all it was a waste of time and there are a million better thrillers to spend money on. If you absolutely must read this book to see what the hype is about, get it from your library or other ways that don’t give this author any more money.

Wow this book was not at all what I was expecting but in a good way. The beginning was the most shocking start to a book I've ever read so I knew I was in for a treat. The ending blew me away not at all what I was expecting. This book was so good from Colleen hoover. Not at all like her other books that are predictable for the most part but still enjoyable. This one threw me for a loop in the best way. The content was at times incredibly fucked up but I couldn't stop. I was glued to this book. 10/10 recommend to anyone wanting a dark read.

TW: child abuse, child death, blood, gore, murder

Is two stars generous? Maybe.

This was bizarre from start to finish. Often reading is exciting because you get to see inside someone else's brain. In this case this is a bad thing. The less I know about what goes on in Ms Hoover's brain, the better. That's enough Colleen. Please.
