So so good!! The magic system in here is very cool, I loved the two main characters, the found family is great, the twists were there. LJ Andrews is my go-to for great Viking romantasy stories - never disappointed!
AHHHHHH I canβt wait for this! Thank you penguin !!!

This book had me squealing like a fool. LJ Andrews is my auto-buy queen, and this felt like a welcome hug from a brand-new world I didnβt know I needed.
It delivers all the things I love most about her books β a unique magic system, fierce heroines, soft found family, viking chaos, and MMCs whose protectiveness is so unhinged it deserves its own trope (Roark and Erik would 100% be besties. I fully imagine them absolutely wrecking enemies together β Roark silently selecting the finest bones like heβs at a craft store, while Erikβs in the corner already hot-gluing them into jewelry for their girls. πππ).
The tension, the political intrigue, the forced proximity? πβ€. I especially loved that Roark uses sign language β it felt so fresh and added real depth to his character. His bond with Thane gave me Kase-and-Luca flashbacks (LJ pls donβt hurt me.. It's been years, and I still haven't recovered from that one ππ).
The lore's a little denser in the first half of the book compared to her other series, but once I settled in? I was π©π°π°π¬π¦π₯. And that ending?? LJ, I need book two. Immediately, please. Thank you ππ
