Lil bit spicy, but not as much as it had hyped up to be. Felt a bit flat at times and the protagonist is a bit annoying. However, the plot has me slightly intrigued and it was definitely left on a cliff hanger.

“My greatest hope is to be in all-consuming love. My biggest fear is to be in all-consuming love.“

I’ve been seeing this book once every 10 reels/video so it got me curious as to why people are reading it. I know it’s a series but goddamn I didn’t expect the first book to be unanswered questions. It made me so confused the more I read into it and even last few chapters did not help one bit. It ended in a cliff-hanger but the me right now does not even have the will to read the next book to know what the actual fuck is happening.

Although what surprised me is the “love triangle” which I did not expect.

Got this as a gift so gave it a second shot. The FMC was insufferable the whole way through. I put the book down after chapter 4 a few months ago but picked it up again to see what the hype was about. The relationships that blossomed were cringe. The dialogue was abysmal. This book is probably 90% “what am I gonna do about this f*ckboy” and girl just needed to grow up! The entire book they’re building up to a secret that is barely revealed in the last 5 pages. From the descriptions and reviews I didn’t really know what to expect but it definitely wasn’t graphic smut and gaslighting men. I wish I didn’t waste my time with this book.

I felt that this books was well written. I liked the MC's and their personalities. At first I was very frustrated with Dom, but then as things unfolded and the plot moved forward, I realized that he was actually one of my favorite characters. I like how broody, dark, and mysterious Dom is, how he's hard to get to know, but loves intensely. I like how light, happy and positive Sean is, how he pulls the FMC forward to get her to enjoy her time and life with ease and no worries. I felt that they were the perfect match and opposite to each other, especially when paired against the FMC.
I felt that the book moved a little slow, things were very secretive for the plot and details, leaving the reader in the dark until the end of the book going into book 2. I felt that this was a little frustrating as I wanted the information now, but overall it kept me reading and made me pick up book 2 immediately. I felt the smut in this book was great, it was descriptive and felt more organic and flowed.
I felt that the smut in chapter 25 was great, as I wanted the FMC to be with both MMC's and I loved how they all came together so perfectly.
I can't wait to see where book 2 takes me.

Rating: 3/5 stars

Honestly, I read this book and I’m still not entirely sure what it was about. There’s a romance and some secrets and a small town, I can tell you that much.

This is a hard book to write a review for because I’m still not quite sure how I felt about it. On the positive side, I was definitely entertained, and the ending had me continuing to turn pages because I wanted to know what happened. I will also definitely be reading book two, because at this point I’m in too deep not to know what happens. I didn’t LOVE any of the characters, but Dom was pretty hot in a few specific moments.

That said, I was also regularly frustrated by the FMC, the MMCs, and basically everyone in the book. I didn’t understand the secrets and felt like the final reveals were simultaneously bonkers and lackluster (don’t understand how they could be both? I don’t either but if you read this book you might get it). The third act breakup had me so confused I can’t stop thinking about it and making myself angry all over again. The final sentence….was something, but I can’t tell you what because of spoilers.

The short version is I don’t regret reading this, but I’m not sure I’d go so far as to recommend it either. I look forward to discussing with my book club and reporting back after I’ve read EXODUS!
