I absolutely loved everything about this book from the characters to the structure and the themes and topics. Mia and Alfie's relationship with each other as well as with their friends was so well written. There was great character development which I found really impressive since the story takes place in one night.

“In remembrance of God, hopes are fulfilled.” -Simi
This is a high-school/college romance tragedy. The story flips between Mia and Alfie’s perspectives. It picks up in the fall after their senior year of high school, however there are a lot of perspective shifts as we learn about what happened the prior year.
I had a hard time rating this book, but overall I enjoyed it. I mean, would I have cried that much if I wasn’t invested? Probably not.
The romance in this book was sweet, nothing like the guys I knew in high school. Hah. I found the characters to be well written, with excitement and pain palpable through the pages. The very real scenarios brought the book down to earth, and made it very relatable.
There were strong Christian themes in the story, as both mc’s come from very religious family’s. There was some personal exploration of belief through Mia as well.
I enjoyed the authors attempt at making the reader think, and reflect on their relationships with others. With forgiveness being a major theme in all the relationships in the book, I couldn’t help but be left feeling as though I too had some forgiving to do.
