A lot of graphic novel series don't develop the characters enough for me to care and stick with it. Well, I read the first two books of this in two days, so I'd say this one is different.

This was my choice for my graphic novel book club this month. Several of us were already fans of the series and with the TV show debuting I figured it was as good a time as any to revisit a past favorite and revel in the carnage of one man's quest to kick God's ass.

As a fan of the show, I suspected I'd enjoy this, though I never imagined just how much I'd enjoy it. I was enthralled the whole way through. Gorgeous art, a whacky story, great characters, countless quotable lines. I can't wait to read the rest of these.

Shear brilliance from start to finish. Great artwork and a dark, bloody, blasphemous storyline culminate for the best series I’ve read since Walking Dead.
Added from volume 1, completed the book, which does go rather astray but still enjoyable as hell.

I definitely won't be reading more of this. Not because it's not interesting, which it is, with its concepts of gods and religions and hate and fear-mongering and all sorts of other fun human stuff. And not because the art's not gorgeous, which it is, with incredibly detailed drawings and lovely colors. What it is is that the story and the art are both just too gruesome for me.
