A short trip into the world of the characters to be explored in love lies beneath. Here we see the beginning of graham as he hooks up with Tara only to find she is his girlfriends sister

Short story about Tara and Graham.....this explains quite a bit about their relationship (hatred) in Love Lies Beneath.

Oh, Ellen Hopkins! What have you done?!
Since this story is so short, I can't let my review be longer than the story itself -- so I'll be brief. I adore everything I've read from Hopkins, and I especially love all that she manages to convey through her style of verse, which was not present in this story.
Ellen Hopkins without the verse just felt like a cheap Harlequin story here. Absolutely nothing special. What feels emotional and important in her regular style just felt overdone and weird in regular prose.
I was excited to read Loves Lies Beneath, but now I'm thinking....

While it wasn't bad, it felt pointless. I love short stories, but this didnt really do much for the story it's suppose to be a semi prequel for.

I am a fan of Ellen Hopkins' work and was interested in reading this prequel. Its rating would have been higher had it not been so complicated to get ahold of it. The overall story was good, the formating was okay, and it left me wanting more as a reader.

A fun little short story. Really wish I had read this before reading [b:Love Lies Beneath|18464394|Love Lies Beneath|Ellen Hopkins|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1422639958s/18464394.jpg|26121506]. It added a whole dimension and understanding to Tara and Graham's relationship. And, I really love that sort of shit. This just explains so much of why they're at ends throughout the whole thing.
