Cute little picture book for older toddler younger child. Apparent from the main principle of a crocodile wanting to eat children it was nice read with other animals working together to save them

This reminds me of an old fable. Would also be a good read aloud.

What's not to love about a book where the entire plot revolves around a crocodile trying to come up with different ways to devour children?

A quick read. Crocodile wants to eat children and the jungle animals help prevent that from happening.

How have I never read this before!? How have I not read more Dahl? Thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved the illustrations by Quentin Blake, they are deceptively simple, but he manages to put such expression into the crocodiles face and the story is just fun to read. I love his secret plans and clever tricks, which don't work out to plan, but he keeps on trying, because who wouldn't want to eat at least three juicy little children. And his eventual fatal flight to the sun, glorious!

Was a summer book club book for the kids

Grade: B+

I am basing my rating for these childhood books on how much I enjoyed them when I read them as a child.

It may be another short Dahl book, but its hilarious story of a hungry crocodile 🐊 and Blake’s colorful illustrations make a wonderful picture book (Grade: A-).

Cute story of the jungle animals saving all the children from the enormous crocodile.

Reliving my youth by listening to Roald Dahl read some of his children's books. Not heard his voice before, very soft and well spoken.
