I love this book! I read it in one sitting. The characters were so well-written. Beatriz wasn't the typical "help me, I'm weak" female character that I've come to loathe. She felt so real. Her actions made sense. The horror was spot on, the setting was vibrant, and the pacing was perfect. I love this book.

“I was vulnerable and ripe, and doomed from the first night I saw red in the dark.
The house knew me as prey the moment I crossed its threshold, and now, it would devour me.”
