This book wasn’t bad, I just really had a hard time getting into it. The plot is very predictable, as in you can pretty much guess from the first page how it’s going to end. I think because of that, I had a hard time getting through the in between nitty-gritty parts of the book.
Also, there were two character relationships that really got thrown to the side in favor of the overall story. And while I did appreciate the story, I would have rather had more time to explore these relationships.
Passenger was so good, that it made enjoying Waferer that much harder.

After the devastating ending to Passenger, I was soo excited for Wayfarer. I wanted that long awaited reunion early on, for Sophia to become more of a main character, to find out what the hell was happening with Julian, would we ever meet Etta’s father and just who is Rose Linden?
“The things which are denied to us in life will never create a cage for our souls.”
Wayfarer delivers all of this however I think my expectations were a little too high. Unfortunately my little ship didn’t reunite quite so early on in the book and my poor heart was disappointed. Etta and Nicholas both have their own journey’s in the book so I understood the need for separation but I found it hard after hundreds and I mean hundreds of pages to really appreciate their coming back together; it was more a feeling of FINALLY!
“We are, all of us, on our own journeys.”
My main love in Wayfarer was the secondary characters: Sophia, Li Min, Henry and Julian. I adored these bunch of misfits. However my main issue with Wayfarer was the pacing, it was just too slow for my liking. The ending was predictable but I still loved it, I’ll definitely miss these characters and I’m looking forward to see what Bracken creates next.

So Passenger was one of the first books I reviewed on my blog last year and I really liked it so when Wayfarer popped up on netgalley I was so quick to request it.
I felt like Wayfarer was definitely better than Passenger, but maybe thats because there's a lot more of the time travelling world in it. Where the first book was getting to grips with the world and showing the reader what could happen the second book was a lot more fast paced and showed so much more of the time travelling aspect and the chases through time aspect that was originally advertised.

I am so torn about this book, I like how it talks about the difference how race, gender, and sexuality are treated throughout time. At the same time, this book is so slow, the main character is separated for far too long (70% of the book). True, the writing is very easy to read, but because the plot is really slow, so every time I'm reading this book, it feels like a chore and I couldn't really enjoy it.
A lovely sequel and finale to the first book. Cannot read the first without reading this one to finish it off because it pays off.
