Enjoyed the mix of history and biology.

Narrated by the author, I thoroughly enjoyed a more science-y journey with Bill than previous books I've read by him. This works well as an audiobook, his style doesn't make it too academic, there aren't too many dates or names to follow.

Going round the body, outside and in, it's a history of our understanding of ourselves as well as an insight into how our 'bits' work, fail, and what we do about it all. I learned a fair few new facts, some new names, and was of course reminded of just how amazing the human body is.

Vitamins, Gray's Anatomy, antibiotics, birth, cancer; these all fit into Bryson's rather fascinating book for readers who like to be entertained while they learn something.

Not 'laugh out loud' funny, more written in a conversational and light way, I didn't feel I missed out on anything by listening to this, and might actually borrow it again from the library to recap it some day.

Entretenido, pero creo que por momentos pretende abarcar mucho (demasiados detalles) y en otros temas se queda muy corto.

Lo mejor sin duda son las historias de personas con las que "rellena" los temas tratados.

No es una obra maestra pero se disfruta.

WOW, I am amazed at how much I did NOT know about the human body! Mr Bryson made this interesting, informative and fun.

My thanks to Netgalley and Doubleday Books for this advanced readers copy. This book is due to release in October 2019.

This could easily have been a very long and boring book, but Bryson’s colorful storytelling and humorous observations kept me entertained. I liked that he didn’t just walk us through the biology, but he unpacked how our understanding of biology has changed throughout history.
