Chilling, but too neatly tidied up in the end. Disappointing.

If I had realized who the author* was, I wouldn't have picked up this novella. It was a quick read and I really enjoyed it. That being said... I just changed this from four to three stars. The more I thought about it, the more I can't forgive some of the choices here. I'd still recommend it for a quick 40 page read.

*It has been years since I read a particular book he co-wrote and I'm still mad about that book. You know it's bad/problem filled when i still won't read after loving this novella.

What a great little nugget! So good and so quick, over in a blink. Leaves you queasy with anxiety and wanting more.

A classic Crouch novella. Creepy town, mysterious townees, scary scenes, and descriptive, clever writing. It was exceedingly thrilling, specially the first half, but then it got slow by the end. Wish it could have ended better.

A good tea-time read, though.
