This is a great book! Such a fast read. It is an autobiography of sorts of the main character, Cara Romero and she tells her story to a government worker trying to help her find a job. This book is everything. It's engaging, thoughtful, funny and sometimes heartbreaking. I've never read a character who is so self assured, vain, funny, and selfless to a fault. As an immigrant I could so relate to all the experiences of the character and the people around her. 100% would recommend.

5/5! This book is better on audible! The story telling was nothing but great.

It's kind of like a stream of consciousness, felt a bit like rambling. I can see how people would love this but I couldn't get into it.

Definitely not a fan of this narrative style. I tried audio and hard copy. Audio was better for the mixing of bilingual languages, but I could read it a lot faster. I ended up skipping to the last section to finish and see if anything compelling happened at the end.

It’s written as an interview / job training of an older job seeker describing in the most rambling ways her skillsets, marketable and otherwise. She digresses into long stories of her family and relationships more than what the impetus of the discussions would have led. Fairly interesting narrative, but the weird structure makes it feel disjointed and I oscillated on how much I liked it as result.
