Honestly thought I'd take a big strike on this one based on the cover (guilty) but from poem one my chips were sunk. A book called modern poetry that feels distinctly contemporary in a way that can't help but drag the past (personal, poetic, historical) along for the ride. Pulitzer prize winning poet for a reason I guess, gotta get off my ass and read some sonnets. An incredible book.
