If someone told me when I started this series that Daisy and Ryke’s book would be my favorite… I would have never believed you.

It was soooo nice getting to see more of these characters and they may possibly be my favorites now!! Can’t wait to see what’s next

"Everyone sees partial sides to Ryke, and he lets them think he’s just an athlete with no brains, an aggressive asshole. It’s like he’s been alone for so long that he’s lost any interest in showing off his worth."

I just want to point out and say that this book took me on such a rollercoaster of emotions during the last 10-15 chapters and I feel betrayed by that fact.

this book made my chest hurt and my stomach hurt -- in the best way possible. (makes zero sense I know)

Listen, at first I really wasn't too fond of their adrenaline junkie personalities - separately I can handle it but together it was just 10x worse. You do you boos, but I sometimes wanted to smack them both because some of the things they did weren't out of spontaneity but stupidity. i know they used adrenaline to feel alive and feel like they can breathe again but some of the things they did felt so dumb.

anyway aside from that, I absolutely loved this book. Like I said, it took me on a roller coaster of emotions. I loved seeing Daisy and Ryke's friendship and that they didn't give a single fuck what anyone thought about it. Yes, people that they were more than friends but they both knew what their relationship was and that's all that mattered to them. I just love that all Ryke wanted to do was be there for Daisy in a way her sisters weren't. I resonated with Daisy and her feelings of not wanting to be a burden to her sisters more than I thought I would.

Daisy hides her pain with laughter and sunshine and adventure. She's loving and kind -- never wanting to be a burden to her sisters who already deal with so much themselves. the trauma that she went through once Lily's addiction came to light made my chest hurt for her and also made me livid. she deserves all the hugs in the world for going through all that and still managing to smile and live life to the fullest.

ryke meadows. i love this man. i'm a sucker for the grumps that hate everyone but do not mess with people he loves. Ryke loves so hard and so passionately, he would move mountains for Daisy, Lily, Lo, Rose and Connor. that’s what made me fall in love with his character from the very beginning. he was by lo’s side through his recovery and never left him, he looked out for lily when lo was in rehab, he protected/took care of daisy and also never left her side.

Chapter 58 fucked me up. I was not expecting that to happen and I quite literally threw my kindle away from me from disbelief. I couldn't handle it. Ryke and Daisy deserve better and I'm glad that they've found their tribe.

The friendships between the 6 of these characters makes my heart ooey, gooey. I just love it so much and I love that they are riding out the roller coaster that is their lives together. they all may not have had the best childhoods, but i'm glad they've found solace in each other and can lean on each other when they need to. i just can't. this book. this series. it's too much.

i've said it before and i'll say it again. this series is going to change me.

This book makes me feel really conflicted. And in the name of honesty- I feel guilty for loving it so much.

I'll tell you why that is. Out main girl, Daisy Calloway, has been through a lot. She's only eighteen years old and she has quite a bit of trauma. And then there's Ryke- he's twenty-five and he's been there for Daisy for quite a while. But he's also had feelings for her since she was fifteen. He planned to never act on those feelings and they only ended up getting together once Daisy was older than eighteen.

It sounds kind of fucked up, but when you read this book- you gain a little understanding to both of their plights.

I'm not making this book sound very good and I'm honestly not sure if I would recommend it to readers, but I loved it. I loved seeing Daisy start to heal- I loved seeing the family dynamics in this book.

I think the Cobalts will forever be my favorites, but I've found love in my heart for Daisy and Ryke as well.
