Greek mythology retelling, Minotaur retelling, checklist, sorry content warning list as long as my arm sold.

This book was a rollercoaster from start to finish. I loved the style of writing and that we were as confused and lost as Sadare is as she finds her way and her memories.

The passion and push and pull between the Sadare and Daesra was pure spice but also had depth and both were complicated characters. I could get enough of them. And that ending well what can I say …. Not much because you need to read for yourself.

Thank you NetGalley for the arc

Maybe I set myself up for disappointment cause I was excited for this one and it was not what I wanted/expected. This is true enemies to lovers/2nd chance, which means the characters were sniping and snarling at each other the whole time. The WHOLE time. The fmc having no memories made it hard to connect with and care about the characters, though the backwards timeline reveal was effective and was done well. It took about 50% of the book for me to really be interested in the story. I did not see the twist coming, and there was some cool imagery and symbolism going on, but overall this didn’t work for me - I was pushing to finish it so I could move on to something else.

FMC is SA survivor that learns how she trapped the minotaur. Finds out they used to be lovers because she lost her memories and FMC effectively SA's minotaur by nonconsensually binding him/his magic. FMC comes out of this and somewhat blame MMC

Plot twists that were a bit hard to wrap my head around, but not a bad book. Sometimes I was asking “where are we?” due to lack of descriptions and mostly conversations drove moments.

Found myself gasping or saying “No!!” at a betrayal. A lot going on in this book, I do think I would read the sequel.

Mostly a spicy book, does become deeper than that though.
