A lost opportunity to make Katniss, Lucy's granddaughter.
Long review (with spoilers) -
It follows the story of Corenalinius (?) in his 18 year old self body and it is the 10th annual hunger games. As part of the requirement to graduate from school, he has to be a mentor for one of the tributes and it ends up being Lucy Gray Baird from District 12. The writing is okay but it already feels like the book is gonna be too long (however it makes sense that the amount of content in the beginning is needed to establish an idea and connection). I didn’t like the fact that apparently C. Snow likes Lucy so fast, and since president Snow in the future is such a tyrant, it is hard to empathize with young Snow. Coriolanus (finally got the spelling right) continues to be a butt even in young age. The second half of the book is just a disappointment and it continued to get worse. Him turning into a peacekeeper was so random. And Lucy definitely deserves better. Period.

Maybe I am biased, but I hated Coriolanus's POV. So boring and it dragged out a lot. 30% in and nothing of significance has come to pass. Very boring.

Coriolanus is zo vervelend!!! Ik wilde helemaal niet zijn achtergrondverhaal weten, hij was gewoon slecht en fout en daar hoefde geen excuus voor te zijn. En dat terwijl personages me meestal minder uitmaken. Als het geen audioboek was geweest had ik het waarschijnlijk niet uitgelezen.
