This was a cute follow up to volume 1. Just as like in the first volume, I love the art style that the mangaka uses. I find it beautiful and I love the chibi forms of Mio and Shun. I also loved the fact that we are seeing a more realistic situation of a gay child within a very traditional family. While I LOVE acceptance in all queer literature and love when the families are accepting of their queer child, that is not always the case unfortunately.
So I am grateful we are finally seeing another side to coming out to your family and how they react, even if it is negative.
Just as in volume 1, I struggled with following the storyline. It felt like the story was all over the place and half the time I had no idea what was happening. I felt like the relationship between Shun and Mio is quite stunted. Granted their relationship in the first place is strange and almost forced.
Also, I had no idea who was talking due to the speech bubbles either not connecting to a person or because it wasn't really clarified. Which was quite frustrating as I had to go back and reread multiple of the pages just to guess who could actually be talking.
I am hoping that as more volumes come out the story progresses better and we are given somewhat more of a plot and that the issue with who is talking is sorted out.
