A good read on a cold Sunday.

I loved Evie and Jake, but Smoke stole the book for me! I mean, who can’t resist a fictional dog who brings a couple together?

Will definitely read more of this author.

I lived this heart warming Christmas tale. It was so refreshing to see a different skill being shown - sewing. It seems to have been forgotten about these days. Fabulous believable characters

That does it! I'm swearing off Christmas love nest stories!!!!

This book had the potential of being really sweet. I liked the characters. The girl was sweet. A true optimist who was always happy and bringing happiness with her, even though she had her own quiet misery. Of course, it was the opposites attract storyline. But when she offers herself to him as a fling, with no strings attached, I threw up all over myself. PLEASE!!!! No more!!!!!!

Another cozy Christmas romance, for December.

This romance was a bit spicier than I planned for or expected in a Christmas romance, but I found I didn't mind very much. I loved watching Evie and Jake grow closer and become friends. I liked them both as people. I loved Evie's quirks.

This book was cozy and festive, and rather more emotional than I'd expected from my Christmas reads this year. I really enjoyed it, and will look for more of Sophie Claire in the future.

This was a lovely story! I listened on audible and the narrator had a beautiful voice, thick with accent that helped me with the setting of the story taking place in the UK.

So often romances do not touch on abuse so it was refreshing to have main characters whom have really been put through the ringer (in a previous relationship) and have also suffered a loss and have had a hard time coming back from that loss.

Some may find the heroine in the story a bit too chirpy and optimistic but I saw a lot of myself in her, and this helped connect me to the story.

A bit of Christmas woven into the story helped play a role in the cozy feelings I had while listening although this story is not Christmas focused.

A lovely Christmas story that has two main characters who suffered a bad loss.
I loved to see how well the grief was handled - showing that it affects every person differently and that there is no right or wrong way.

While one tries to be always optimistic and loves to help people, the other turned away from everyone and went a rather Grinch-like route.
One is doubting herself, the other seems to be rather arrogant. Both have their strong and weak points though!

What I did enjoy most was the lack of teenage drama. Instead the friction here felt realistic and understandable, even to someone as pragmatic as me! Always a plus in my eyes if characters behave like actual adults. The character growth was well done, if at times a bit rushed for side characters.

As always bonus points for the dog!
