Sebbene questo sia un libro molto breve (32 pagine nella versione Kindle, quella che ho letto io), il valore aggiunto è comunque alto. Tanto per capirci, arrivato alla fine della lettura mi sono reso conto di aver evidenziato 13 passaggi significativi, quasi uno ogni due pagine. Il saggio è l’adattamento del Ted Talk con lo stesso titolo che l’autrice ha tenuto nel dicembre 2012, un video che è stato visualizzato su YouTube più di 6.000.000 di volte. Dura poco meno di 30 minuti (ossia lo stesso tempo che serve più o meno per leggere il libro) e racchiude la definizione di femminismo che [a:Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie|19992417|Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1611854826p2/19992417.jpg] ha costruito sulla base della sua esperienza. Il suo vissuto come donna in Nigeria (e non solo lì) è spesso richiamato attraverso aneddoti ed esempi molto efficaci. Se siete lettori o lettrici che si stufano in fretta leggendo i saggi, questo è il miglior testo che possiate leggere sul tema.

This type of discourse is of complete necessity to not only women, but men as well, in our society today. The misconceptions of what it means to be a feminist are stifling the true growth that can come from taking a genuine interest in the term and what it aims to work on in our society. This is a short, easy, and well-written read that I think everyone would benefit from.
