Nice back and forth between the A and B plots. The authors clearly care more about
Simon Hodge, their self-insert OC
than I did as a reader. That character is leveraged for emotional stakes in this volume and the next in ways that don't really pay off for me.

It is not enough for Team Baltimore to encounter jellyfish floating in the air while at sea, but once they reach freezing temperatures and march across ice, one of the jellyfishes' tendrils freezes against the ice, becoming a threat to the group as the freezing continues up its body, threatening to crash into the ice soon.

That is the sort of detail I adore.

Hmm. I came into this story in the middle so I don't really know what's going on. It's not my style of art and the story is passable. There are witches and vampires. There has been a plague caused by the vampires that is whipping out humans. Lord Baltimore is seeking the Red King to stop the Plague. This is what I can gather. I don't know how it ends. It might be good enough that I want to know what happens.

I think this really isn't my genre. Or, I need to try it from the beginning.

I was hoping the Red King would make an appearance but I still liked these five comics. The cover of the first one is a favorite of mine.
