Am I one of the few people who actually enjoyed this book? lol It made for a nice escape/fluff piece for me. I did figure out a few things early on. I am majorly pissed at Gemma. I'm a little baffled why there will be a series, this could have just been made a bit longer and a single book. But whatever. I still enjoyed it!

In terms of summer reads, [b:Broken Hearts, Fences, and Other Things to Mend|18525657|Broken Hearts, Fences, and Other Things to Mend (Broken Hearts & Revenge, #1)|Katie Finn|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1383555831s/18525657.jpg|24568234] is a decently enjoyable YA novel. The premise put a bit of a strain on my suspension of disbelief; the main character, Gemma Tucker, is infuriatingly naive, impulsive, and immature most of the time; and the twists are too easy to guess. All that being said, I always get a kick out of guessing plot twists/character developments before they happen and since certain predictions weren't answered in the first book, I will be reading the next one in the series by [a:Katie Finn|1879494|Katie Finn|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1390845280p2/1879494.jpg], [b:Revenge, Ice Cream, and Other Things Best Served Cold|22718703|Revenge, Ice Cream, and Other Things Best Served Cold|Katie Finn|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1426274696s/22718703.jpg|41335512]. So, while Broken Hearts, Fences, and Other Things to Mend was enjoyable enough, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this book to anyone still on the fence about reading it.

Okay, did not expect the book to end like that!!! Good thing I was planning to go straight to the sequel anyway. This book would make a fun movie. We got the summer setting, the meet cute, mistaken identity, shady eleven year old behavior, a character trying to make amends, and revenge! What more could you want?

I really went in this book, with super low expections. This is morgan mathson pen named. But this book was a super fast read. I read it almost like it was trying to figure out a mystery. This book has alot of the same elements as second chance summer, just a lot more light hearted. I really did like gemma as character and also liked the new setting of the hamptons. I am not sure if i will love the others books in the series as much, because they have do to with a pranking war. But this was fun quck read!

DNF @ 175 pages. I can see where this is going and some reviews have confirmed my suspicions. I also can't take all of this lying, backstabbing, revenge plot stuff. It irritates me too much. I really wanted to like this book because it's by Morgan Matson whose other works I've enjoyed. But, I can't with this book anymore.
