This concludes the Four Beasts arc, and it was great! Lotta fights, friendships grow, and we get a Sailor Moon reference, which was very important to me, personally, lol.

this volume was kinda mid. interesting to see how Togashi originally had the scenes play out in the manga vs the way the anime was directed --
for the most part, early 90s-00s anime episodes were structured to fill the 24min~ time frame.. often times the animation director would stretch certain chapters *ahem*DRAGONBALLZ*ahem* and it would stick out like a sore thumb / be extremely annoying for a young boy trying to watch his morning cartoons..
-- in this particular volume, the anime did a better job framing the fight with the Four Beasts/Whistle Bug Things than the source material.. imo.

We're getting into it and I can see the gang working together pretty well. I'm excited to see them getting even closer as our adventures continue. It was also nice to see Keiko and Botan doing their own thing even without the help of Yusuke. Hiei as a character is interesting because he's obviously fighting side by side with the other guys, but he seems resistant to the idea of them as a unit. Can't wait to seehow he'll develop. Let's go!
I really liked volume 5 a lot. We finally got to see Yusuke have a proper mission. Excited to keep going with this series.

This one dragged on for a bit, though I might be more sensitive to pacing because I'm reading one of the slowest paced books on the side.
It was fun. More Hiei and Kurama, we see some results of Genkai's training, and Keiko is still a girlboss.
