I stopped reading the series because this was about NASCAR. Decided to pick it up to catch up, and my instincts were right: I do not enjoy anything NASCAR-related. I totally skimmed the sections on NASCAR history or "fun facts." The mystery itself was okay, but I like Brennan, so will try another.

A corpse found asphalted in a barrel in a dump. There are two young people who have been missing for twelve years. And the FBI seems particularly interested in all these dead people. All the loose threads left from the first investigation are investigated by Temperance Brennan, with all elements connected to NASCAR racing. I hadn’t read Kathy Reich in a long time and rediscovered this author that I really like. The plot is intelligent, the forensic details are top-notch and the writing full of witty humour.

I normally love Kathy Reichs "Brennan"  books. This one was meh. It did not keep my attention like previous books I've read.

A good storyline with the bones, I love Ryan as a character so sad with his lack of appearance in this one. However, loved the biotoxin storyline, something a little bit different
