Wow. First and foremost, make sure you read ALL the trigger warnings before you read this. I don't really have any but this book made me SICK to my stomach at some parts.

I have attempted to read this on more than one occasion, and this most recent attempt will be my last.

I will start by saying this book is written extremely well, and the characters of Iris and August are multidimensional and worth reading about.

Check the trigger warnings for this. I know about the DV as being part of the story, and normally this topic does not trigger me and I can read through it.
The writing of this topic discussion in my opinion was written very well, and with that it did trigger something in me that I didn’t realize would.

I will say if you are still interested in reading this story, please do, but definitely check the trigger warnings.

Wow…this book was heavy! I went into this book blind and did not read the content warnings. Fortunately, I would have still read it but the rawness of the IPV was unexpected. I loved this book, and it was an intense read. Kennedy Ryan always has a way of carefully honoring the real life experiences of survivors in her writing. I look forward to the second book in the series and will check for any warnings this time :)
