A great story of the struggle in an abusive relationship and finding yourself and trying to break the cycle.
È il primo libro che ho letto di Colleen Hoover e sicuramente andrò a leggere tutti gli altri.
La scrittura in inglese è molto semplice, infatti consiglio di leggere i suoi libri in lingua originale.
Passiamo alla storia...mi ha devastata psicologicamente! Ci ho messo un pò di tempo a finirlo onestamente, in quanto mi hanno turbata particolarmente alcune scene e faticavo a credere come Lily facesse a perdonare certi atteggiamenti e atti di violenza. Quando ho scoperto che la storia di Lily è stata ispirata dalla madre della Hoover sono rimasta scioccata... non oso immaginare quanto coraggio Colleen abbia avuto per riuscire a scrivere fatti che ha vissuto lei stessa in famiglia. La ammiro moltissimo per non aver premuto il pulsante "Delete" perché questa storia merita di essere raccontata.
È una storia che mi porterò dentro per sempre, è una lezione di vita...le persone che più ti amano possono essere le persone che ti fanno più soffrire.

This is the first book that made me cry my hearts out and made me nervous to even finish it. But i’m glad i did.

Very raw commentary on an important topic, some viscerally uncomfy bits to sit with at times. Also like the exploration of the different types of relationships in the book
Good read. Shame about the cover. This is such an important, powerful story about domestic abuse I cannot believe that the publisher chose such a flimsy second-rate cover. Come on Simon & Schuster – you do yourselves and Colleen Hoover a huge disservice.
A page-turner and I like how the author cuts straight to the action. Corny, limp and cheesy in places but when I find myself screaming at the protagonist Lily, I know this is a powerful story. Lots of strong scenes – this one popped out for me (Chapter 24 near beginning). Lily has been assaulted and is at the hospital. She is accompanied by her old friend Atlas. The nurse has just asked her if she has been raped: "Tears fill my eyes and I see Atlas roll across the wall, pressing his forehead against it." Super description of an action that captures Atlas's anguish for his friend.
Would appeal to YA audience.
Sloppy proof reading. I spotted two typos.

Great book. No complaints - the story is very easy to follow/read, it tugs at your heartstrings, has a fulfilling ending. I just don’t think Colleen Hoover is for me. Not to say I wouldn’t read another one of her books but it’s just not my preferred cup of tea.
There is a lot of negativity in the media around her and her glorification of abuse (somewhat justifiably so) but I think this book tells a different story.
I can see why readers enjoy her work so much and I would recommend this one to others!
