Quite slow to begin, but overall enjoyed the story. The characters are quite complex and lots of town politics

The first half of the book was a bit of a slog, but picked up around 60% through. Not my favorite French novel, but it grew on me by the end.

She writes mystery like poetry.  Absolutely gorgeous.  Steven King calls her prose "incandescent", and I would have to agree.  Because of her literary genre I think maybe she does not get the kind of wide acclaim that she probably deserves.
