I was really enjoying this book, but the ending just wasn't up to scratch. It went from being a really realistically scary story to an unbelievable, blatantly fictitious one.
If I were to rate this book when I first started it, it would have been a solid 2. But as the book went on, I really liked it And if it had been that intriguing the whole time I would have given it a five. So it's going to have to settle for a four.

There was about an hour of this towards the end that I enjoyed because it was gory & brutal. The rest was mostly 2 whining teens who are bad friends doing something they have no reason or enough knowledge to be doing…then a bunch of unbelievable ridiculous things happen. Then it’s over. No true resolution.
I LOVED this book. I'm not usually a fan of survival stories but this has such a strong sense of danger and tension throughout. The two main characters were really interesting and I loved the setup of two friends who feel their friendship is coming to an end going on one last trip in an attempt to salvage it. There are very few books which can scare me but this filled me with dread and some scenes were genuinely terrifying. A fantastic read.

This is a solid teen horror book! Perfect for anyone who's gone down the rabbit hole of videos about people going missing in national parks.
