Two teenaged girls with no survival skills what-so-ever are allowed to go camping in the woods by themselves, are hunted by stereotypical, backwoods mountain men, and only survive by the power of pure chance and friendship with absolutely zero follow-up afterwards.

The Woods Are Always Watching is another book that's been sitting on my TBR for a long time, and I'm glad I got around to reading it. It's on the shorter side, with some interesting character development and a good few moments that gripped me. However, an issue with pacing and an unsatisfying conclusion slightly lowered my rating.
Josie and Neena are two long-time friends venturing into the woods for one last getaway before their lives head in two very different directions. What the women expected to be a simple hike, turns into something much worse very quickly, and they're left fighting for their survival in a more than unforgiving environment.
With a book this short I felt as though the blurb gave away too much, and I can't find much satisfaction in the ending. It was so abrupt, and after a slow start, the pace just felt off and unmatched.
Overall, The Woods Are Always Watching was an enjoyable, and at times an engaging read, pick it up if you've been eying it, but watch out for that ending.

I wasn't quite sure what I expected it to be, but it didn't hit that mark. it was okay, but I probably won't reread it. it was pretty predictable, kind of boring, and the pacing was odd.

I really enjoyed “There’s someone inside your house” so I was excited to read this one but ultimately didn’t enjoy it. The threat was terrifying and, honestly, where I hoped the book wouldn’t go. Even when I saw it going in that direction when the men in the woods were introduced, I hoped something interesting or even unique would follow but no - they were exactly the type of men I hoped they wouldn’t be and because of that the story became extremely predictable. The ending was so abrupt I felt like there was still so much story left that the girls needed to address. It was a very quick read, I got through it in just a couple of hours but I couldn’t recommend it. If anything I think 2 stars is generous.
