Quickie review: 3 stars. This was not great for me. I am just not loving this series. I liked this book even less than the first one. The characters seem so young and immature. The H was 33 and the h was 20, but she acted more like 16 in my opinion. The names of the characters in this series are so weird and hard to take seriously, you would think you were in an alien sci-fi (Hammer, Flip, Rix, Hemi, Shilps, Dred, etc.) Overall, though, this book felt too long and too full of drama. Aurora (h) came off as an immature kid, not as a "boss b!tch" that she is described as. She was so horny for this guy who acted barely interested in her. Hollis (H) wasn't a "stand up" guy and wouldn't go after what he wanted. He was so wishy washy. I just didn't get them as couple or feel that they fit. They had no chemistry. I didn't love either of them as characters or this story in general. I am not sure if I will continue this series.

slow-paced

This book felt so much longer than it actually was, and it was already quite long. There is a lot of repetitive dialogue, and really harping on the same subjects over and over. The MMC did not give me the warm and fuzzies until the end, but by then I was already "Meh" about him. The drama was messy, and felt overwhelming at times. 2 stars simply because the spice was not bad, and the tension was decent.
