This book was….okay? Verrrrryyyy preachy and lecturing on topics but it was okay otherwise.

I think I’d like it on a re-read more, so there’s that.

A million trillion stars for this book.

My first read by Ali Hazelwood and my first Sports Romance. I did find this one a little hard to get into with it not being my usual genre however, I do feel it picked up and it was a good little story.

Scarlett Vandermeer (Vandy) is a junior student athlete who specialises in platform diving. Scarlett is very hard-working and has to succeed at everything she sets out to achieve, in hope to get into med-school as an Orthopaedic Surgeon. This was until she suffered an injury which turned her world upside down and almost ended her career.

Lukas Blomqvist, swim captain and world champion is an all-round golden boy and is the ultimate heartthrob. He and Scarlett have nothing in common but their paths intertwine when introduced by Penelope Ross and, a well-guarded secret comes out, to which everything changes.

As Scarlett and Lukas start an arrangement, the pressure to the Olympics heats up, as does their relationship but is Scarlett treading in dangerous waters.

i read Hazelwood’s Bride (which was amazing) before, so i thought deep end would do it for me. It did not, unfortunately. I found none of the characters likeable, let alone the story line. I am definitely not the target audience.
