P&P meets queer love. This book was drugs to me, even though I expected it to be trashy and bad. Working with the material from Pride and Prejudice, or starting from it, is kind of a big feat. But this book was engaging and delightful - everything I wanted in character development and plot for a lighter-than-usual summer read, that was ALSO well-written and not total garbage about straight people.

Maybe a little too slow of pacing. was not excited for the end.

I’ve read a number of Pride and Prejudice retellings/spinoffs/whatever and this was a really good one. My only complaint was the epilogue: I really dislike the far-future epilogues that insist on telling you how everyone ends up dying decades later. I do not care; it is not related to the story. This one was particularly annoying to me for some reason. But the rest of the book was great! I loved that Anne got a story to herself, and I like how the author spun her illness. The fact that she got outside out of her situation and took charge of her life was incredibly satisfying.
