"Hey Rach! Something with 6 arms and a big mouth just came through and naturally I thought of you"

KIM HARRISON CAN DO NO WRONG! I will never stop saying it.

In this new book, Rachel tries to juggle her duties as the Subrosa. An old undead accompanies Ivy back into town to accuse her of killing the last master vampire and take the city back. Yet again, someone is after her allies, the demons are not playing by the rules and something strange is happening with Rachel's new roommate. Rachel is no newbie, but keeping Cinci and everyone she loves safe is hard when no one has your back. It's Rachel's Birthday and everything is falling apart. What more could a girl ask for?

This book was so good. With the last few paragraphs, I literally had goosebumps on both my arms and legs. Waiting for the next book is going to be torture. I would recommend this series 100x over and plan to take it with me when I die.

Trouble with the Cursed
by Kim Harrison
(The Hollows #16)
Paranormal Urban/Fantasy

Rachel, a witch-born demon, is secretly keeping Cincinnati safe for humans from the paranormal and the paranormal from themselves, but when an old D.C. vampire comes to town, accusing her of killing Constance, Cincy's master vampire, who she didn't kill only transformed, Rachel has to prove herself innocent, without letting Constance go. But she finds out Hodin, the demon she's protecting from the other demons, who she thought was an ally, was really working with the old vampire hoping to replace her.

This story is nicely paced and full of action. It moves smoothly from start to finish without a lot of unnecessary reflection, history, or other nonsense. Though there was some 'dwelling' on a past character which makes me wonder. This character is a sensitive subject for me and while there are a very few ways this could happen, I don't think I'll be happy about it.

But this story and the entire series are wonderful. I highly recommend it!
