Really enjoyed this book. I listened to it via Borrowbox.

Fantastic story or murder mystery and psychology. It was really interesting with some great twists along the way. I will definitely listen to another Nicci French book.

Geen topper wat mij betreft... Ik kon geen sympathie opbrengen voor het hoofdpersonage en sommige stukken kwamen toch net iets te onrealistisch over.

Beautifully read audiobook that brought character and life, making up for some of the failings in a fairly mediocre plot - I saw every twist coming.

Assured debut, and my first from this author, as I acquired a used copy on vacation.  Effective exploration of a trauma unearthed from the past, and recovered memories.

Jane is an architect and belongs to a big family. When a skeleton is unearthed in the Martellos' garden, Jane Martello(she married into the family) is shocked to learn it's that of her childhood friend, Natalie, who went missing twenty-five years ago. Encouraged by a therapist to recover lost memories, Jane hopes to find out what really took place when she was a child - and what happened to Natalie.

Memory is a funny thing, particularly while being hypnotised.

The outcome is not what is expected as you read through the book.

I've read a lot of Nicci French's books. I've loved all of them. I think I also read that this one was her first? I was expecting a taut, suspenseful read. Like her others. Not so much. I barely cared who killed Natalie by the end. The characters were not likable. There were TOO MANY characters... I did find the manipulative therapy interesting. Other than that, I will continue to read her books. Maybe I will stay away from her earlier work.
